- Take a two-litre plastic bottle and cut around the neck
- Attach the cut-off neck upside down on the bottle and secure with tape
- Add a mixture of honey/sugar/soda and water in the bottle
- Keep it where wasps frequent
- Empty the trap or throw it away once all the trapped wasps are killed
- Use Mint Oil and Trees
Wasps don’t like any form of mint. You can pour some peppermint oil on a tissue or swab and keep it in your garden or home. Put them around the nest, sheds, crevices, porch roofs and decking- wherever you feel wasps may intrude.
You can also plant spearmint and other trees of the mint family in your garden or backyard as preventive measures.
- Wasp Decoys
Wasps are territorial and don’t make nests near other wasp nests. You can purchase a wasp decoy and hang it in your garden to keep other wasps from creating nests and invading your space.
